World Wellbeing Week 2024
Prioritising Health and Happiness
World Wellbeing Week is a time to celebrate and raise awareness about the importance of wellbeing in our lives. The team at Colloide, understand that wellbeing encompasses various aspects, including physical, mental, and emotional health, as well as social and economic influences. This week offers us the perfect opportunity to take stock of our own wellbeing and engage in activities that promote a healthier, happier lifestyle.
Our Wellbeing group from our Culture Hub planned an exciting jam-packed week of activities designed to help the team focus on their wellbeing. From mindfulness and physical fitness to healthy eating and social connections, they had something for everyone.
World Wellbeing Week Playlist by Team Colloide
To enhance the atmosphere during this week, our staff curated a special playlist to play throughout our offices. This playlist features a mix of uplifting, relaxing, and motivating tunes designed to boost the teams mood and keep the positive vibes flowing. Music is a powerful tool for enhancing wellbeing, and we hope this playlist helps everyone feel more connected and energised.
World Wellbeing Week – Calendar of Events
Mindful Monday
Mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we’re doing, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. While mindfulness is something we all naturally possess, it’s more readily available to us when we practice it daily. On Mindful Monday, Colloide provided ideas and resources to help the team lead a more mindful life.
Time Out Tuesday
We asked the team to take some time out from their busy work schedule to join together for a Pilates class at Cookstown Leisure Centre. Pilates focuses on core strength through structured exercises, gradually increasing in challenge. This session is a great way to improve your physical fitness and relieve stress.
Wellness Wednesday
The team held a healthy brunch featuring overnight oats and omelettes. Eating healthily has numerous benefits, including improved energy levels and concentration in the short term, and better weight management and reduced risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease in the long term.
Trek Thursday
Team Colloide got their trainers on and went for a lunchtime walk at Cabin Wood, Cookstown and Roe Country Park, Limavady. Packed lunch’s could be brought to enjoy in the fresh air with colleagues. Spending time outdoors can boost your mood, lower your heart rate, increase energy levels, and even improve digestion.
Feel-good Friday
The team were provide with some fantastic ideas for days out and activities to enjoy with friends and family. Positive social contact releases endorphins, similar to the physical response after a hard workout, giving you a happiness boost and reducing stress. People who feel more connected to others often have lower levels of anxiety and depression. To make this week even more exciting, the Team Colloide had some fantastic prizes to raffle off to those who participate in the weeks activities.
