Colloide's 100 Miles in March

In March, Colloide staff united to take part in the 100 Miles Challenge, which encourages individuals to walk, run, or cycle 100 miles during the month. Inspiration for this initiative came from MIND, a mental health charity, who promote this challenge for fundraising purposes. Staff were encouraged to take part for their own wellbeing but also to raise awareness and generate funds to support MIND or a charity of their choice.

About MIND

MIND is a mental health charity based in England and Wales, offering advice and support to individuals facing mental health conditions. The organisation operates over 150 shops across England and Wales to raise funds for its vital support services. Additionally, there are more than 100 local MINDs delivering community-focused services tailored to meet specific needs, ensuring individuals receive the help and resources required to improve their mental wellbeing.

MIND state that their mission is to, “give advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding”. MIND fulfil this mission through a wide range of support and services offered by the charity through various platforms and interactions. These include their four helplines, such as a support line, Infoline, welfare benefits line, and legal line. The charity also operates “Side by Side”, an online support community where individuals can discuss their mental health and connect with others who understand their experiences. This allows those struggling to feel less isolated in what can often be a lonely battle. Additionally, support is provided through individuals’ “local Mind”, offering tailored assistance within their communities.

The Challenge

The 100 Miles in March Challenge entails individuals to clock in 100 miles between the 1st and 31st of March. This can be achieved through any physical activity such as walking, running, cycling and swimming.

Our members of staff approached the challenge with dedication and excitement. If they were supporting MIND, they received a free t-shirt and tracker from the charity. This was a brilliant addition in raising awareness and helping to track their miles.
