Colloide collaborated with United Utilities and Advanced Plus to provide a bespoke chemical dosing system for Ainsdale Wastewater Treatment Works. Serving as the specialist mechanical and electrical (M&E) subcontractor, Colloide played a key role in supporting United Utilities’ ongoing commitment to environmental compliance and sustainability.

At the heart of the installation is a 5m³ ferric sulphate dosing system featuring two pumps, engineered to significantly reduce phosphorus levels in the wastewater stream. Left untreated, phosphorus contributes to eutrophication, promoting excessive algae growth and threatening aquatic ecosystems.

This project not only highlights United Utilities’ proactive approach to environmental stewardship but also reinforces Colloide’s position as a leader in delivering future-focused, sustainable water treatment solutions.
