Colloide partnered with Severn Trent and MWH Treatment to deliver a tailored chemical dosing system at Alveley Sewage Treatment Works (STW). Colloide acted as the specialist mechanical and electrical (M&E) subcontractor. This project reflects Severn Trent’s proactive stance on meeting environmental compliance targets and underscores Colloide’s continued leadership in delivering sustainable, future-ready water treatment solutions.

The installation forms part of Severn Trent’s progressive procurement strategy, which includes one of their largest orders of 154 dosing units from Colloide. This advanced procurement approach has helped significantly cut lead times and accelerate delivery schedules by several months.

At the core of the Alveley system is a 5m³,  4 pump ferric sulphate dosing setup, designed to efficiently introduce ferric sulphate into the wastewater stream. Without treatment, phosphorus can trigger eutrophication, leading to uncontrolled algae growth and degrading aquatic ecosystems.
